Diamond Heist

A card game for 2 to 4 players.

Object

To have the most Diamond cards at the end of the game.

Set Up

  1. Use a standard 52-card deck of playing cards and two Jokers.
  2. Take all Diamonds out of the deck, and place them face up in one pile.
  3. Take two Jokers out of the deck, and set them to the side.
  4. Shuffle the deck, and deal each player three cards.
  5. Shuffle two Jokers into the deck, and place the deck face down beside the Diamonds to form the draw pile.
  6. Play starts to the left of the dealer and continues clockwise.

Taking a Turn

  1. Always take a card from the draw pile once per turn, and add it to your hand.
  2. You may discard one card from your hand to the discard pile face down once per turn, and take one Diamond card from the Diamonds pile to add to your hand. (It is safer to discard a Jack, Queen, or King as you will see in the upcoming CHALLENGE section)
  3. You may reveal one Joker in your hand once per turn, and discard it face down to the discard pile. Then steal one Diamond card from one opponent to add to your hand.
  4. Say when you are done... your turn ends when you say you are done, and the player to your left draws a card.

Challenge

When you take a Diamond card from the Diamonds pile, one opponent may challenge you during your turn if the opponent has a Diamond card in their hand. The card you played on the discard pile to get a Diamond from the Diamonds pile must be turned face up. If the card is a Jack, Queen, or King, then the opponent must take a Diamond card from their hand, and place it face up on the Diamonds pile. If the card is not a Jack, Queen, or King, then you must take two (or one if that is all you have) Diamond cards from your hand, and place them face up on the Diamonds pile. Turn the revealed card on the discard pile face down.

How to Win

When the Diamonds pile is empty, and no one challenges the last turn, then the player with the most Diamond cards wins.

Notes

If the draw pile is empty, then shuffle the discard pile to form a new draw pile.
